Rideshare

Rideshare services like Uber and Lyft have become extremely popular worldwide and have changed the way many people travel. However, neither company has very stringent training or hiring guidelines with respect to safety.

Recent safety reports issued by both companies reveal a staggering number of sexual assaults have occurred during or immediately after the use of services from Uber or Lyft. Specifically:

  • Lyft reported approximately 3,000 incidents of sexual assault occurred between 2017 and 2019
  • Uber reported approximately 9,715 incidents of sexual assault occurred between 2017 and 2020

Despite acknowledging the number of reported sexual assaults, neither company has taken substantial measures to improve safety in an effort to prevent additional sexual assaults.

If you or a loved one has been sexually assaulted while using rideshare services from Uber or Lyft, please contact Johnson Law Group to receive a complimentary consultation and learn whether or not you may have a viable claim.
